Turquoise pebbles in varied shape and size decorate this leather-corded necklace, complete with sliding sterling bead closure. This contemporary piece was handmade by Diné (Navajo) artists living and working in New Mexico.

On a tour of New Mexico in the winter of 1929-1930, Dr. Barnes acquired a large number of turquoise and silver jewelry pieces.
