Visit the Barnes Shop during the seventh annual Museum Store Sunday, an international event that spotlights the distinctive and unique offerings available at museum stores.
This year, we're expanding to a full weekend. Starting on Saturday, November 25, we'll be featuring two exciting pop-up shops from women-owned businesses: Kathy Jeanne Millinery and Harshita Designs. Admission to the Barnes Shop and pop-up shops is free all weekend. Visitors will also enjoy 20% off all regularly priced merchandise on Sunday, November 26.
Kathy Jeanne Millinery, located in Fairfield, New Jersey, uses wood blocks and presses that are more than a century old to create classic hat shapes topped with hand-stitched trims. Inspired by the style and colors of Marie Laurencin’s paintings, Kathy Jeanne Millinery designed special hats just for Marie Laurencin: Sapphic Paris.
Philadelphia textile artist Harshita Lohia designs luxurious apparel and accessories. She draws elements of line and texture from architecture, natural materials, and her travel experiences, then turns them into block-print designs and layers them onto silk in unique patterns.
The first 15 guests each day who purchase an item from the pop-up shops will receive a free gift, courtesy of dZi Handmade.
