Oya Lace Leaf Necklace
Oya is a crocheted lace originating in Anatolia (now Turkey). It is a tradition of lace-making dating back to the 15th century, and is used as embellishment for clothing and home textiles. Many flowers carried symbolic meaning, originally signifying the age, marital status, or outlook of the wearer, as well as to convey hope or good fortune.
This piece features multi-color oval-shaped leaves connected on a closed crocheted chain. Can be looped and layered or worn as a long strand.
Handmade in Turkey, 51 inches long and 1 inch at the widest point.
